This colour has two versions. The first one appeared early for Fender and was Originally a Chrysler colour called "Desert Sand" that Duco Made. First used in 1955 by Fender on Musicmasters and the Duo Sonic. They used it from 55 to 58 where it changed to a brownish colour also referred to as Desert Tan. True Fender freaks will also note it was sometimes used as a "primer" usually under colours like Dakota Red. Clear coat for a beautiful finish.
