Very similar to our other "blond" this colour has become so popular because of the original broadcasters and Telecasters. Years of wear, tear and a few gigs have aged the original colour to a yellowed blond that we know and love today. This is the colour you see when they open a real 52, 53 telecaster case. These are very different from the later mustard yellow reissues if you look back through history. It can also be aged with our original aged clear or if you are looking for the "relic" style tele you can use our heavy aging clear coat to get things going. It is also still a translucent colour allowing you to opaque more and more with each pass. Appy even coats until desired colour. Clear coat for protection and depth.

Please note: Fender has had many many different "Butterscotch" variations over the years. This is our take on the best and true originals. It has been matched to a early telecaster from the 50s. If you're looking for a very yellow "reissue" type version of this we recommend using our heavy aging clear coat.

The first picture is of our matched 1953 butterscotch and the second is using our heavy aged clear coat to yellow it more. This can be used to give you control of your aged finish. It's up to you!

If you're looking for a much more opaque butterscotch like the roadworn telecasters it can be made for you by request only.(see example for opaque colour) Do not try to opaque the grain fully with our regular butterscotch. It's a very translucent product and will not be 100% possible. Ask for opaque butterscotch in your notes at checkout.
